Venerable Jin Rou
Jin Rou is an American Buddhist nun and a disciple of Master Hsuan Hua of the Dharma Realm Buddhist Association. She is best known as a teacher and author of children’s books rooted in Buddhist wisdom and universal human values. She is the founder of Instilling Goodness Books, a series that serves families, schools, libraries, and communities seeking meaningful literature that inspires moral growth, inner peace, curiosity, in children and a sense of connection with the world. She also writes under the names Dana Green and Red Wing, in honor of her great-great-grandmother.

Venerable Jin Wei Shi
Born in Poland, Jin Wei Shi began his meditation practice in 1999. After a bohemian lifestyle, he dedicated himself to Dharma practice upon reading the Sixth Patriarch Sutra. He volunteered in hospitals, helped organize Dharma Realm Buddhist Association (DRBA) delegations to Europe, and took full ordination in 2017. In 2020, he earned an M.A. in Buddhist Classics from Dharma Realm Buddhist University (DRBU). He now teaches at DRBU and Berkeley Buddhist Monastery, focusing on education and community

Venerable Sister Pearl
Sister Pearl has spent most of her life in Minnesota and worked ten years as a Physician Assistant at Mayo Clinic’s Cancer and Palliative Care departments prior to her ordination in 2019 in the Vietnamese Bamboo Groove Zen Tradition. Her spiritual roots are grounded in Vietnamese Zen and Soto Zen teachings. Sister Pearl completed Buddhist chaplaincy training at Upaya Zen Center and Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) at Emory University Hospital.
Presently, she is volunteering as a Buddhist meditation teacher and interfaith chaplain, including in correctional facilities. Sister Pearl is a regular guest-teacher at the Minnesota Zen Meditation Center and is an active member of the Minnesota Multifaith Network. Currently assisting with revitalization efforts at Giac Tam Meditation Center in Minnesota, Sister Pearl focuses on outreach for children, teens, and young adults, making Dharma accessible through online classes and organizing family and youth retreats nationwide. Her interests include being in nature, Zen arts and crafts, building connections, and fostering mindfulness in daily activities such as cooking, dining, cleaning, taking a walk, or serving other

Venerable Jin-Zheng Shi
Jin-Zheng Shi is an American Buddhist nun. She was born and raised in Atlanta. She moved to Berkeley, CA, after graduating from Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts, and became a frequent attendee at Berkeley Buddhist Monastery. She resolved to leave home in her early thirties, and then entered the Sangha Laity Training Program (SLTP) at the City of Ten Thousand Buddhas in 2017. She was ordained as a novice nun at Berkeley Buddhist Monastery, in June 2019, and later fully ordained as a bhikshuni upon completing her monastic training at the City of Ten Thousand Buddhas in 2023. Currently, she is completing her MA in Buddhist Studies at Dharma Realm Buddhist University, and will graduate in May 2026. She is also one of the editors for the monthly journal, Vajra Bodhi Sea.

Venerable Sister Khema
Sister Khema was ordained in Sri Lanka in 2013. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Buddhist Studies from Myanmar in 2020. Her academic and spiritual journey includes study and practice in Sri Lanka, Myanmar, and India. In 2022, she relocated to the United States and has since participated in sharing Dharma practice with children and youth at various Buddhist camps and temples. Sister Khema completed her first Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) Unit at Winship Cancer Institute in 2024 and her second CPE Unit at Emory Decatur Hospital in Atlanta, GA in 2025.
Currently, she is pursuing a Master of Divinity at Naropa University in Colorado. Sister Khema remains devoted to meditation practice and Buddhist studies, and she actively participates in initiatives aimed at introducing Buddhism to the wider community. Concurrently, she is developing greater chaplaincy skills, both on campus and within the Buddhist community, to help integrate Dharma principles into everyday life.
