Guidelines for Campers
GENERAL GUIDELINES
-
All minors must be accompanied by an adult who will be accountable for the minor’s behavior throughout the camp. Together, strengthen bonds by participating as a family.
-
Adults are responsible for supervising their children outside of scheduled classes and activities, fostering shared growth and responsibility.
-
Familiarize yourself with and follow the camp’s schedule, posted for all attendees, to stay connected and involved.
PERSONAL CONDUCT AND ETHICS:
-
Follow the five Buddhist precepts: no killing, no theft, no sexual activity, no false speech, and no use of intoxicants. These principles help us create a foundation for trust and respect.
-
Engage respectfully with all campers, treating everyone as an extended family. Building connections begins with kindness and mutual understanding.
-
Put away electronic devices to focus on conversations, activities, and contemplation.
MINDFULNESS
-
Be mindful of the retreat’s intention and purpose: to foster meaningful connections with others, ourselves, and nature.
-
Engage actively in all planned activities and remain present both physically and mentally. Participation helps us level up on the path of connection.
PERSONAL ITEMS
-
Let’s be sustainable! Bring your own water bottle, notepad, and appropriate attire for the day’s activities. Thoughtfulness here contributes to the greater connection with our environment.
-
Keep your belongings organized and within your designated area to ensure communal spaces remain welcoming for all.
COMMUNICATION AND RESPECT
-
Communicate openly and honestly, always with respect. Clear communication strengthens the bonds we are building together.
-
Show respect towards instructors, camp counselors, volunteers, and fellow campers. Everyone’s role is important in creating a successful experience.
-
Ask for help or clarification when needed. Seeking support fosters trust and connection.
